David Jenkin RIBA
Director – and-associates limited
David is a highly experienced architect known for his design and planning of complex spaces (both interior and exterior), which helps clients adapt their workplace culture to a rapidly changing environment. His particular interest is in bridging the gaps between users, their requirements, how they might change over time, and the built environment.
Formerly a Director at DEGW David was also Design Director for AMA where he has created many prototype and innovative spaces including One Stop Shops, office workspaces, libraries, and educational environments for the London Borough of Southwark, Bath Spa University, and Sheffield Hallam University. He is currently particularly involved with a number of space planning and refurbishment projects for Sussex Police and Central Government.
David has contributed to books on office space and libraries, and taught in the US and UK.
Joanna Eley RIBA, MA Oxon
Briefing & Post-Occupancy Consultant, and Client Advisor
Joanna, senior consultant at Alexi Marmot Associates and formerly Director there, and a graduate from Oxford in PPE and University College London in Architecture, is an RIBA accredited Client Advisor with thirty years experience of space planning and advising organisations on strategies for space and facilities management to achieve user satisfaction and organisational objectives. Clients include many universities, large public and private sector organisations plus smaller groups and charitable foundations.
Joanna is co-author with Alexi Marmot of Understanding Offices: What every manager needs to know about office buildings (London, Penguin Books, 1995), and Office Space Planning: Designing for Tomorrow’s Workplace (New York, McGraw Hill, 2000). She carries out extensive research and technical writing for many public organisations, including for CABE, as well as contributing to recent publications on university buildings, master plans, and advice to architectural clients.
David Andre RIBA
David is a qualified Architect, with over 30 year’s experience in a wide range of building types which include high-end residential, retail, education, commercial fit-out, office and workplace design projects. He is a skilled interior designer with a particular interest in the delivery of high quality installations.
A colleague of David Jenkin and Joanna Eley from DEGW, David has rejoined and-associates to work on a series of space planning and refurbishment projects including with Sussex Police and on central Government projects.
Ben Rogers BA Hons, Professional Diploma in Architecture
Working with and-associates and Alexi Marmot Associates for several years Ben is currently involved on a respite care centre for adults and children with autism plus several projects for Sussex Police, and has worked on a specialist Dementia Day Care Centre, school teaching environment improvements at Crawford Primary School, and a social housing development for Southwark Council in Peckham.
Ben has broad architectural experience and is at present working toward Part 3 accreditation with the RIBA. He is also involved in day-to-day management of the office and IT systems, marketing and website management, and the implementation of BIM. His background at the Centre for Alternative Technology has developed his interest in sustainability which he champions for the practice.
Lee is a highly experienced architectural technician, and has worked closely with David Jenkin and the and-associates team for over 20 years. Having worked on large scale new build and refurbishment projects at DEGW he now supports and-associates by providing leadership in all technical areas. His particular skills are in providing detailed packages of coordinated information and BIM.
